Dick was the love of my life, my best friend, my soulmate, my husband for 44 years and “Darlin’ Companion” for all those plus 4 more years before our marriage.

We lived on boats for 20 of those years, mostly in the eastern and western Caribbean,
Bahamas, Florida Keys and New England. A very good life it was. We spent the remaining years in the Pacific Northwest and north central Florida in the nature coast region.

He loved being outdoors. He was happiest in the warm clear waters of the Caribbean, swimming, snorkeling, sailing, fishing, kayaking. On land, he loved hiking, gardening, exploring, biking. He was a hunter, gatherer, identifier, nature lover, birder.

He was an accomplished boatbuilder and carpenter. His ability to repair other people’s boats provided us the means to enjoy our cruising life.

He was a history buff and got his college degree in that field, though he didn’t use it professionally. He preferred working with his hands and his creativity, attention to detail, problem solving ability and  integrity made him a success at that and everything he took on.

He was an avid reader and seeker of knowledge. He loved to cook and was good at it,. He was kind, generous, gentle, good and loved helping others.

I miss him more than words can say and will love him forever.
