Mom –

Mom was a lot of things. She was beautiful. She was eccentric. She was fun. She was family oriented and her animals were always considered family. She was a hard worker. She was a baker and a lady of crafts. She was a teacher. Most of all she was strong and stubborn.

She was raised well with many experiences, good and bad, though life was still hard. She worked from the age of 14 and never stopped. She had 5 children who loved her with everything they had, which for her, was enough. She gave her life to take care of us because she loved us more than anything and wanted us to have everything. She raised animal lovers, cooks, artists, music lovers, workers, singers and weirdos because she was all of those things. We can all find solace in the fact that she is no longer fighting and suffering through her cancer but has transcended it. She is, and will forever, be missed by everyone she loved while she experienced life. We will never let her go but we can accept that we will only see her again when our own time comes, God willing. Until then she will live through us in whatever ways made us the same. In our traditions that we pass on to our children and that they pass on to theirs. In the recipes of hers that we make because she loved them and because we love them too. In the art that we make and in the eyes of our children. In those ways she will never die and we will never forget.
