My mother was the light of our family. Whether it was a great day or a tough one, she always managed to find the positive side, no matter what. She was a wonderful mother of two, and her absence will be felt more deeply than words can express.

Joyce touched the lives of everyone she met, and her positive attitude carried her through life in the best way possible, every single day. She loved many things in life, but none more than her two children. She also took joy in brightening someone’s day, even if she didn’t know them. She was truly the kind of person this world needs more of.

I have to admit, I wasn’t initially accepting of my mother’s decision to donate her body to science, but if it helps spare even one son from losing his mother, then Joyce has done it again!

Rest in peace, Mom. I know I’ll see you again in a better place. I love you more than I will ever be able to put into words.
