Betty was born on November 12, 1931, and passed away on November 15, 2024.
Betty grew up in rural Missouri. She was very smart and graduated at the top of her class. She moved to Phoenix in 1954 with her first husband, parents, brother, and his wife for her brother’s health. Betty was a homemaker until her two youngest twin daughters became school age. She wanted to make her mark in the world. She worked with her first husband, Denton, in the neon sign business. Later, she worked as an administrative assistant before becoming a realtor. She was a people person and truly enjoyed that time in her life. She was a great cook too and liked to eat healthy, which contributed to her long life. She was always an inspiration to me in that way.
She was always very active, taking up golf, working out, and even completing a half marathon at the age of 70. She loved fashion and decorating or redecorating several homes over the years. She also loved photography. One of her favorite places was Beaver Creek, where she and her last husband, John, would go when they were able to get away. She took lots of pictures there.
My mom was always there for me over the years, and we were extremely close. She was an extremely strong and determined woman. I miss her every day, but I know a part of her will always be with me.
