Steven Ray Chaffee

Steven Ray “Steve” Chaffee, 56, of Greenburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 2, 2026. Born on September 24, 1969, in Elkhart, Indiana, Steven was the beloved son of Wanda Chaffee and the late Thomas L. Chaffee. Steven lived a life defined by love—love for his family, friends, and his three cherished dogs: Leah, Lucky, and Waddles. His bright laughter and warm presence had a remarkable way of bringing joy to those around him. Steven’s greatest legacy lies in the love he so freely gave to others. His kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He embraced life fully and made the world a brighter place through his unwavering care for those around him. He is survived by his devoted mother, Wanda Chaffee of Indiana; his children, Steven Chaffee and Ashley Chaffee Pennsylvania; his brother Scott (Linda) Chaffee; his sister Cinda (James) Hough ; as well as nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart. Steven was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Chaffee, and his wife, Doris Toppler Chaffee. May Steven’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him and inspire us to never miss an opportunity to tell someone they are loved. Steven suffered with pancreatic cancer, and wanted his life to help others who may have cancer.
