In Loving Memory Robert Edward Bombalski August 8, 1948 – March 29, 2026 With deep love and fond memories, we honor the life of a devoted father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and brilliant mind. He passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at the age of 77, leaving behind a legacy defined by intellect, service, and dedication to his family. Born on August 8, 1948, he served his country with honor as a Petty Officer Third Class (ETR3) in the United States Navy until completing his military service in 1973. Following his time in the Navy, he built a distinguished career at Alcoa, where he worked as a brilliant, glorified chemist. Over his decades in research and development, he earned more than 30 patents before retiring in 2011. In the spring of 2014, he traded the lab for the Sunshine State, moving to Florida. Never one to stay idle, he embraced a second chapter working as a true jack-of-all-trades at a local gun range. He was an avid marksman with a passion for precision, spending countless hours mastering silhouette and long-range shooting, and generously sharing his knowledge with those around him. Above all his professional achievements, his family was his greatest pride. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Dolores. He is survived by his three children—Jamie, Joey, and Victoria—and his beloved 13-month-old grandson, Haydn, who brought immense joy to his final year. He also leaves behind his loving siblings: Timmy, Tommy, Mary, Joni, and David. In keeping with his lifelong curiosity and spirit of helping others, he made the selfless gift of whole-body donation to MedCure to support medical research and education, continuing his legacy of scientific contribution. He lived his life with steady strength and a passion for how things worked. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
